Concordancers
A concordancer is a search engine that is designed for language study. When you search a collection of documents for a term, the concordancer shows you every instance of that exact term, along with the context in which each instance occurs.
For information about why concordancers are important, see "Research Terminology Issues," in Chapter 9, "Eliminating Undesirable Terms and Phrases."
For my own terminology research, I use a feature of acrocheck™ controlled-authoring software. Therefore, I don't have any first-hand experience with concordancers. However, here are a few that I have heard about:
